We are finally glad to present you our board game โSnakesโ by Toy Dreams!
We have been testing and finalizing it for a long time and now we decided to release it into the world!
It can be called a relaunch of the world-famous game on old Nokia phones - Snake. And now you can compete in two with your friend, trying to corner him and grow bigger than him!
This strategy will make even experienced players nervous, as each โbattleโ will be special with an unexpected ending.
You can block the opponent's path with your long snake and the opponent will lose, as he will not be able to walk, or you can take the opponent in the ring with your long snake - what strategy to choose is up to you!
Either way, it will be a fun half hour.
My 5 year old daughter really liked the game and we play it in the evenings, even with my wife we played with pleasure, for children it is a fun experience, and for adults serious strategy where you should think about every move and calculate the moves of the opponent.
Set:
1. Playing field
2. Storage box
3. Your chips and your opponent's chips
4. Four types of food
Rules of the game:
Preparation for the game:
1. Choose the color of the chips you will play with
2. Place the food randomly on the field.
3. Place your chip in the corner of the field, and let your opponent place his chip in the opposite corner.
Gameplay:
1. Take turns, you can only go back and forth or sideways, you can't go diagonally. Let the younger player go first :)
2. Move towards the food - when you eat food your snake increases by one chip.
3. When you get close to the food you can eat it. Eating food counts as a move, so when you get close to food you have to wait until your next move to eat it.
4. How the food is eaten: you place your new snake token instead of the food and your snake thus becomes 1 part bigger. And the food must be placed in a new random place on the field. Where to put the food? Count the steps from your tail and place the eaten food in a new place at a distance of 1-4 cells from the tail.
Count 1 move from the tail for an apple, 2 for a donut, 3 for cheese, 4 for a chicken leg. This way food will always appear in a random place on the field and the game does not require a die or a lettered field. Count the moves from the tail in a straight line, turn only if you hit a wall or another snake. The farther away from the tail the food you eat, the better.
Anyway, we read comments and reply to posts daily, so feel free to ask about the rules here on Cults. The rules are actually very simple and we decided not to make a manual, hopefully for good reason :)
Final:
Whoever fails to take a turn loses.
Now about printing:
For those who have a color printer, we prepared an interesting picture with a snake on the back of the field.
All the elements fit in the box and the box is closed by the field with snaps, so you can take the game with you on a picnic or anywhere you want.
Tip: to avoid overheating the plastic when printing, put several food models on the table at the same time. When we printed a chicken leg alone on the table - the plastic softened and the quality suffered. That's why in the 3mf file the food is put on the table not in one copy, but 9 pieces at once.
The size of the field is 180mm, so the game can be printed even on small printers, plus you can resize all the contents quite freely, to make the game bigger or smaller.
We really want to get your about this game in the comments, so don't be shy! If anything needs to be corrected or improved in the model - we'll fix it asap.
All yours, Toy Dreams.
