3D model description

Meet POSY-1 – a desk lamp shaped like a robot that combines unique design with practicality. The design of this lamp is inspired by the retro-futuristic atmosphere of 20th-century science fiction writers.
This charming robot is not just a source of light but also a stylish decor element for your room. Its "eyes" – lightbulbs – provide comfortable lighting for work or relaxation. POSY-1 is designed to bring cozy, nostalgic retro vibes to your space. It helps create a warm atmosphere where you can enjoy working, relaxing, or spending time with loved ones.

The completed model is about 300mm in height.

For eyes better use Osram Vintage 1906 Globe P25 E14 light bulb.

Caution!!! Use LED dimmable lights only

I used a no-name dimmer purchased at a local store, featuring a D-type shaft with dimensions of 6.3mm (0.25in) x 4.3mm (0.17in) and a maximum dimmer depth of 60mm.

All parts are fitted to a 200x200 bed size.

The design is created to minimize effort and maximize satisfaction. The most commonly available components are used, ensuring they are easy to find.

For this project, I used the Osram Vintage 1906 Globe P25 E14 light bulb., ceramic lamp holder e14 and Dimmer for wall installation featuring a D-type shaft with dimensions of 6.3mm (0.25in) x 4.3mm (0.17in), or round (4mm and 6mm round). and a maximum dimmer depth of 60mm.

Small updates:
- added two additional dimmer knobs to fit more common dimmer shafts (4mm and 6mm round).
- added screw test models—if you're unsure about your printer's setup and tolerances, it's best to print these first.

3D printing settings

The archive includes two different database models named base1 and base2. Choose the one you prefer.

Here's my settings:

  • material: PLA
  • 0.4mm nozzle. 0.2mm layer height

  • 4 perimeters with infill 40%(pattern cube Prusa slicer) for:
    - neck,
    - head bolt,
    - head vizor L/R,
    - legs hip L/R,
    - legs lower leg L/R,
    - legs lower torso.

  • 2 perimeters wall thickness for rest of parts

  • infill pattern cube 20%( Prusa slicer)

  • s required

  • some parts (body, head) have extremely low angles. Decreasing printing speed or using high-performance cooling will give you the best results.

  • .zip includes screw test models (screw1-1 test, screw1-2 test)—if you're unsure about your printer's setup and tolerances, it's best to print these first.

With these settings the total weight is approx. 900g.
